Key West, FL

We just got back from a much needed vacation. We headed to Key West and of course booked some charters to try our luck. The offshore action was slow but we did get into some reef fishing. We caught a bunch of Yellowtail Snapper and other various fish.

Our highlight was the tarpon trip. Our guide knew what he was doing. He took us to a spot that was just a highway for schooling tarpon. We must have seen hundreds of tarpon breaking water. Kandi hooked up first but lost her fish after a 30 minute fight. She jumped the tarpon twice before losing it.

I hooked up next and the fight lasted for an hour and a half. This fish did not want to give up. We estimate the fish to be about 70 inches at 70 - 80 lbs.
