2011 Duck Opener Weekend

It's not the same without Clint. For the opener, I was joined by Jafet and Tom. We headed for the Willapa. We got there early enough to get the spot. But, as the early morning wore on we were joined by 2 guys across the bay and an old guy who decided to set up shop about 220 yards on our right.

The tides were not optimal, nor was the weather. It was sunny and clear with little wind. Nonetheless there were birds around. I noticed the there weren't a lot of teal. The usual suspects such as the pintails, mallards, and widgeon were around. I shot 5 birds and Jafet shot 1. Tom was not so lucky. It was his first hunt.
