NOOTKA: Critter Cove

 

Matt invited me, Aaron and Mike to Nootka. We couldn't turn this down. It was a new adventure and the promise of huge Kings. We also got to test Matt's new SeaSport and get the boat bloodied properly. Nootka sound is beautiful. Remote and not easy to reach. Critter Cove is a floating lodge and served as our base of operation. We had 3 solid days of fishing. The first day was to get a feel of where things are located. To get to open ocean we had to roll about 8 miles then another 3 miles to Bajo Reef aka the killing fields. We were successful with fish up to 35 lbs. and limits of cohos.
