Westport Ground and Pound

Mike, Trent, Tom and I headed out of Westport for the last day of halibut season. We were excited for a nice forecast. Only, it didn't turn out to be that nice. Smooth seas running out, but as soon as we hit 40 miles the wind already came up. We tried to get our halis as quickly as possible. The wind waves made it impossible to reach bottom without having to back down. Backing down in steep and close wind waves also presented the risk of swamping my motors. After about 5 drifts, we called it good and made the long trek back home.
