Last Hunt for 2012-2013 Season

One last hunt. My time has gotten to be pretty demanding so this was the last hunt. Tom and I headed for the Willapa. We knew it was going to be a sunny day but cold. The river was iced up and I had to bash my way to find open water.  We managed to get to the spot where I wanted to be and it wasn't long before birds started to drop in. A few mallards today, with me shooting 4. 1 hen and the rest were drakes. Tom also got 1 hen mallard, 1 pintail and 1 widgeon. Next year can't get here soon enough!

Raven's Maggie Mae Bell

We finally brought home our new Labrador Retriever pup named Maggie. She comes from a great hunting lineage and she will be come my hunting companion for the next decade. She's 8 weeks old and we are in housebreaking mode.
