125 and counting

It's Nov 30 and Maggie has retrieved 125 ducks so far. We've had some memorable hunts already with multiple limits and shooting a limit of greenheads.

Summer Tuna

100 Retrieves!!!

Stormy weekend so we hit the beach spot. Saturday was super windy and we had some action. Shot 8 plus 1 honker. We had to leave due to the storm surge which was flooding the area. Some of the decoys broke loose and we had to leave them. We came Sunday and rescued our decoys and saw some more action. Got 8 ducks plus 4 honkers!

Trying to get to 100 retrieves

It's been tough to get decent numbers. Ducks seem to not fly. Our weather has been fairly mild. A few cold spells, but no storms. We've been hunting very hard to get to our goal of 100 retrieves. We've added a few more ducks, but it's been tough out there.

No Man's Land

We got beat to the spot at the bay. We checked a spot about a 1/4 mile south along the road. Didn't do so well. We were in no man's land. I didn't shoot at all. Tom got a double on Teal and JAfet shot a buffie.

A Teal Kind of Day

I headed back to the bay with Tom. High tide was at 10:17 a.m. Rain and 10-12 mph winds steady all day. We managed to scratch out our limits. Shot a bunch of Teal. Mallards were scarce and wily. The Widgeon were there but we had shot our limits by the time they really started to move. Saw the birds move around during the tide change. Will keep that in mind.

I finally got a break. Decided to hunt the bay side this time and it paid off. Missed some mallards but I limited out on Widgeon and Teal. Maggie made good retrieves with a few long swims.
